Abstract

Methionine is a part of proteins and peptides. The methionine-based feed additive is designed to improve the growth and productivity of cattle, including cows. Methionine salts have significant advantages over methionine itself, making them more attractive for a wide range of applications. At the moment, there is a general method for obtaining chelated methionine complexes. But each metal has its own characteristics, meaning different products of solubility. This work is devoted to optimizing the conditions for the synthesis of calcium methionate, a valuable feed ingredient and food additive. The process of obtaining calcium methionate, as a rule, involves the interaction of methionine with a calcium source in an alkaline medium, followed by the release of the target product by crystallization.
